Doctoral Externship

Director of Clinical Training: Janet Kimberling, PhD

The Women’s Center offers Clinical Psychology externships to students of any gender who are enrolled in doctoral degree programs in clinical psychology. The training generally takes place in the Vienna, VA office.

The externship requires 16-20 hours per week.

Individual supervision is provided by a licensed psychologist.

The program includes the following:

  • Orientation
  • Minimum of eight to ten hours of psychotherapy per week
  • Mandatory weekly seminar and group supervision from 1-3 every Wednesday.
  • Group and/or workshop co-leadership, when available
  • Weekly supervision group lead by LPC
