Groups at The Center
The Women’s Center offers a number of support therapy groups to help individuals connect and grow. Joining a group is a great option if you are seeking connection, looking for others who share similar experiences, or would like to find new coping skills and strategies. Groups offer a space to share and to receive a broader range of perspectives. Additonally, groups can be a great place to work on relationship and social skills as well. Please see below for full descriptions of all currently available groups.

Support Therapy Groups are available in both Vienna, VA and DC. Please note the location of the specific group.

Group Descriptions
Grief Support Group
Mondays, 6:30 – 8 PM, Virtual, Starting on April 13 for 8 Weeks (No meeting Memorial Day)
Grief is a deeply personal journey, and there is no timeline for healing. If you are an adult who is struggling with the loss of a loved one, we welcome you to join with others in a supportive, judgement-free, online space to process the grief together. We will work toward understanding grief, honoring our loved ones, and moving forward in our own lives. You don’t have to navigate the loss alone.

Caregiver Support Group for Aging Parents
THURSDAYS, 12 – 1 PM, Exact Start Date TBD
Join us as we navigate new changes and learn coping skills to deal with the stress that comes with caretaking responsibilities.
Our support group will focus on:
- Self-care strategies
- Managing stress and anxiety
- Shifting roles, identities, and challenges
- Support around anticipatory grief

Women’s Virtual Group: 60 and Beyond

Changing bodies, changing minds, changing families. Let’s talk about life transitions. Meet weekly in a supportive environment to explore challenges and triumphs of this dynamic period of our lives. Join our group for women 60 and better.

Ready to Talk: Support & Healing for Domestic Violence Survivors
EVERY OTHER THURSDAY 7 – 8:30 PM, Held Virtually, Exact Start Date TBD
You are not alone. Our group offers a safe, compassionate space where your experiences are heard, validated, and supported as you begin rebuilding safety, strength, and hope.
Therapeutic interventions & support group focus:
- Trauma-informed emotional support and grounding techniques
- Empowerment-focused discussions to rebuild self-esteem
- Coping skills for anxiety, fear, and trauma responses, and more

Separation and Divorce Group
THURSDAYS 7 – 8 PM, Exact Start Date TBD
Are you recently divorced/separated and looking for support?
The Women’s Center is here to help. We invite you to join our support group, scheduling intakes now. We hope to provide a safe and supportive environment for healing as participants navigate the challenges of divorce and separation.

New Moms Group
THURSDAYS 12 PM – 1:30 PM, Starting in December, exact date TBD
You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Join other new moms for gentle, supportive conversations and practical guidance on:
- Asking for and accepting support
- Figuring out feeding and sleep (yours and your baby’s)
- Managing postpartum emotions, anxiety, and mood shifts
- Finding yourself again in this new season of motherhood
Come as you are — messy bun, baby in tow (0-6 months), and in your coziest clothes. This group is a place to exhale, connect, and remember you’re doing better than you think.

Break the Cycle of Domestic Violence
Are you in a healthy relationship?
Being a victim/survivor of emotional, physical, financial or psychological abuse can make you feel very alone and isolated. The Women’s Center invites you to join our FREE drop-in support group to break the silence, connect with others, access resources and share experiences.
Together, we can break the cycle of violence!

This program is fully funded by a grant and is free to participants.
