Join us for an educational and empowering workshop designed to increase understanding of domestic violence and the many forms that family abuse can take. This session will explore the dynamics of coercive control, including physical and sexual violence, emotional intimidation, verbal abuse, and financial control. Participants will learn to recognize warning signs, understand the barriers that often prevent victims from seeking help, and become familiar with community resources and options for safety and support. The presentation will also include an overview of the Virginia protective order process, from intake through trial.
The workshop will be facilitated by Bolivia S. Bustamante B., CA, MSCJ (She, Her, Ella)—Program Manager and Credentialed Victim Advocate, Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Services—who brings extensive experience working with survivors and implementing trauma-informed, culturally competent approaches to advocacy and intervention. All are welcome to attend and encouraged to bring questions.
Together, we can strengthen awareness, foster safety, and support healing within our communities.
