EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Spanish-English Domestic Violence Community Victim Advocate: Seeking a bilingual Spanish-English Domestic Violence Community Victim Advocate to serve victims of domestic violence. The position works from Fairfax County Domestic Violence Center (DVAC), a comprehensive, co-located service center, staffed by county and community non-profit partners. The position is 37.5 hours a week and is grant funded position through April with renewal likely. Please send resume and letter of interest to: jroberson@thewomenscenter.org

Duties include:

* Assist victims of domestic violence by assessing needs and helping them access referrals
* Provide psycho-education to victims of domestic violence
* Conduct interviews in structured format, providing information, support and safety assessment and planning
* Provide clients with current information on organizations and availability of services
* Provide clients with current information on court processes, protective orders, and legal services available to victims
* Accompany victims of domestic violence to court proceedings when appropriate
* Establish positive relationships with agencies and work in collaboration to assist victims
* Attend domestic violence coalition meetings when needed, track data, and generate reports
* Provide trainings to the community and do outreach
* Assist in other ways as required in the implementation of the victim advocate position
* Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

* Two years’ experience working with victims of domestic violence
* Bilingual English – Spanish
* Master’s Degree in counseling, social work or psychology preferred

* Oversee all accounting and financial functions of the Women’s Center

* Monitor daily bank account activity and reconcile bank accounts
* Prepare annual budget, grant budgets, and budget to actual reports
* Prepare grant reports, financial analysis of cost centers and profitability reports for management and Board of Directors
* Track restricted and grant funds in compliance with GAAP and grant terms
* Coordinate annual audit and 990 submission
* Prepare annual and month-end financial statements with multiple classes and codes
* Prepare quarterly and annual payroll tax filings
* Manage Accounts Payable and Cash Flow; prepare cash flow projections
* Prepare Payroll
* Manage Investments and Bank Accounts
* Supervise part-time Accounting Assistant
* Provide recommendations to management and function as part of the leadership team
* Post revenue and prepare daily deposits
* Staff the Board of Director’s Finance Committee
* Develop and implement efficient and effective procedures and practices for financial management
* Ensure adherence to highest ethical standards, GAAP and all relevant regulations and best practices

Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting;
* CPA Preferred Two-years’ experience in Non-Profit Organization strongly preferred
* Medical practice experience a plus
* Ability to work in fast-paced environment under deadlines Proficient in QuickBooks, Excel and PowerPoint
