SUMMARY:Easing into Retirement
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is geared for individuals who are contemplating retiring and who may be a bit afraid of retiring. It’s about taking the first steps. And second steps for those that have retired and are stuck\, perhaps even bored. It’s about building quality and joy into retirement. The session will offer tips\, ideas\, and exercises from first-hand experience\, interviews with retirees\, and several books written by experts. You will explore creating your own guidelines and finding your retirement style. \nWhile financial planning is a critical step to a happy retirement\, this workshop does NOT address retirement investment strategies. \nAbout the Presenter \nRebecca recently retired after 40+ years in leadership roles in business development\, trade shows\, and marketing at SAIC and Leidos. Fearing retirement\, Rebecca kept postponing the date (by four years!) until both a pending company reorganization and a health challenge made her rethink the timing. Once she took the retirement plunge\, she wondered why she’d waited so long! While volunteering and facilitating workshops for The Women’s Center\, Rebecca offered to create a new group session designed to help others who may be timid of taking the plunge or who may not be feeling fulfilled in their retirement. \nPLEASE NOTE: WORKSHOP IS IN PERSON AT THE WOMENS CENTER IN VIENNA\, VA
