SUMMARY:Reclaim Apologies: A Gateway to Healing
DESCRIPTION:Relationships and life are messy. As people\, we often harm each other by accident and at times\, on purpose. Maybe we didn’t show up when we said we would or we lied. Maybe we cursed out a loved one in anger or even hit or physically hurt them. It can feel impossible to come back from some types of harm. We harm\, but we also heal. As people\, we can heal\, forgive\, and take responsibility for harm in a way that can make others and ourselves safer. In this workshop\, we will think about the apology – our main tool to say the harm out loud and begin to heal. Workshop goals are: \n1. Reflect on the what we want from apologies\, what others might want\, and what value they might serve. \n2. Define your own apology template\, including when and how you want to apologize\, common things that stop you from apologizing\, and what to do if others reject your apology. \n3. Practice your apology template in different scenarios. \n4. Plan for how you want to use your apology template in your own life. \nWe will also offer two 30 min apology coaching sessions within 30 days of taking the workshop.

SUMMARY:Anger Management for Women Series
DESCRIPTION:Presented by the Women’s Center Therapist\, Dorothy Pennant PhD\, MSc\, LPC\, NCC\, CSAC\, Psychotherapist \nThere are many emotions that contribute to our daily life. Sometimes we handle life with ease and sometimes we become angry during stressful situations. \nIf managed inappropriately\, anger is likely to negatively affect our physical and mental health. Repressed anger can disrupt relations\, affect thinking and behavior patterns\, and create a variety of physical problems\, such as high blood pressure\, heart problems\, headaches\, skin disorders\, arthritis\, and digestive issues. \nChanneled carefully\, anger can help you achieve your goals. Misuse it and it will create difficulties that will keep you from becoming the kind of person you would like to be. \nIf you feel stuck\, come learn the patterns and triggers of your own anger\, and ways to express anger appropriately and constructively. \nOne time $150 fee for the 7-week series. \n Tuesdays 7-9pm \nJune 1 –  July 13 \n Please pre-register early to ensure your participation. \n  \nwww.thewomenscenter.org
