DESCRIPTION:There are different issues that teens face every day. What is appropriate behavior compared to inappropriate behavior? This workshop will address these questions and give guidance on navigating the mental health system. You will also learn what resources are available to you and your teen. There will be a Question & Answer period with discussion. \nAbout the Presenter \nAlex Kuo is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Maryland. She practices at Chesapeake Neuro-Behavioral Health in Ownings\, Maryland where she provides talk therapy with the option of adding neuromodulation. She has practiced in the range of mental health services from emergency psychiatric services\, inpatient behavioral health\, and outpatient services. DESCRIPTION:This 2-hour workshop offers essential self-defense training for anyone\, regardless of age\, size\, or physical strength. The program teaches the value of power over strength — how to use physics\, physiology\, and psychology instead of muscles to defend yourself. Repressed anger can disrupt relations\, affect thinking and behavior patterns\, and create a variety of physical problems\, such as high blood pressure\, heart problems\, headaches\, skin disorders\, arthritis\, and digestive issues. \nChanneled carefully\, anger can help you achieve your goals. Misuse it and it will create difficulties that will keep you from becoming the kind of person you would like to be. \nIf you feel stuck\, come learn the patterns and triggers of your own anger\, and ways to express anger appropriately and constructively. \n
