Relationships and life are messy. As people, we often harm each other by accident and at times, on purpose. Maybe we didn’t show up when we said we would or we lied. Maybe we cursed out a loved one in anger or even hit or physically hurt them. It can feel impossible to come back from some types of harm. We harm, but we also heal. As people, we can heal, forgive, and take responsibility for harm in a way that can make others and ourselves safer. In this workshop, we will think about the apology – our main tool to say the harm out loud and begin to heal. Workshop goals are:
1. Reflect on the what we want from apologies, what others might want, and what value they might serve.
2. Define your own apology template, including when and how you want to apologize, common things that stop you from apologizing, and what to do if others reject your apology.
3. Practice your apology template in different scenarios.
4. Plan for how you want to use your apology template in your own life.
We will also offer two 30 min apology coaching sessions within 30 days of taking the workshop.
